You Are Significant

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

You Are Significant
Lindsay Leonard

The world wants you to believe that you are insignificant, just one tiny speck in a gigantic universe full of planets, stars, and other galaxies. They want you to accept the norms of society and to fit in with the world and their standards. Society tells you that you can be unique and they will embrace you but only if it fits within their own definition of unique.

This is what’s wrong with the world today. Too many people are afraid to be themselves and embrace their own definitions of unique and beautiful. Too many people are afraid to think for themselves and go against society’s standards and norms.

Luke 12:7 states: “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” This is God showing us that He has made us unique and special in His own image. God did not create us to be a tiny and insignificant speck in this universe. Once you realize how truly special you are, you will not let the world tell you otherwise. You will understand that you have so much worth, more than the world could ever give you. You don't need the world's approval or to live up to its standards because God has set you apart.

Deuteronomy 14:2 says: “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.” Throughout the Bible, God shows us how much he loves us and cares about us. This verse is just one example of many. As a believer of Christ, I know without a doubt that God loves me no matter what and will never leave me or forsake me. I know that as long as I follow God, the world will never take me away from him. Nothing could change God’s love or view of me even if I were to stray because God is an amazingly forgiving God.

If you ever feel like you’re worthless or that you couldn’t possibly be special then please, crack open a Bible or download the Bible app and learn about how loved and truly special you really are. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
