You Are Enough

Dear you,

I get it. No matter what age you are, we all live in a society that constantly is changing its version of what's "popular", "trending", and even what's "perfect." Looking in the mirror, I know we all get a little discouraged sometimes when we don't look like the people in Vogue or the Victoria Secret models. Maybe, you get discouraged when you don't make the basketball team or when your GPA doesn't go up, we all question our worth daily with the constant questions:

Am I not pretty enough? Is my waist not small enough? Am I not smart enough? Why won't ______ like me?

We've all asked ourselves those questions more times than we can count, here's the thing, though, we were all created in the perfect image of our Lord and Savior which means we are enough. We were all individually chosen by our perfect Father to exactly be living this life He has given us... Mind blowing and even overwhelming, trust me I know, to think that someone so holy and so good chose us to live on this earth and that can love us so much (beyond our self-doubt and insecurities) is beyond amazing.

Let's just take a second here to soak that all in, Isn't that truly awesome!?! You don't have to entertain Satan's lies he likes to tell you late at night or when you walk up and down the hallway, scared to death to face what group of people that is in that classroom.

Our perfect Lord in heaven designed us to be exactly who we are, every single detail about us; our eye color, skin tone, and every single little freckle. He never makes ANY mistakes, no matter how you feel about your body size or how many times you get invited to social events; it doesn't change the fact that He truly is such a "good good father" and is in control of absolutely everything. He can see the beginning and the end, so hold on sweet girl, He's got you. Forever and for always. Insecurities are big, but our God is so much bigger.

Just remember when that self-doubt comes to steal your big, bright, beautiful smile, because maybe that cute boy didn't ask you out or because you don't look like the girls in the magazine, you are who you are for a reason. You are worth more than all the diamonds and pearls my darling, no matter what this world says. You were created by the king of all kings, the Lord of all Lords, you are the daughter of not only a king but THE king. I promise you with all my heart, you truly are enough.

"You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you." Song of Soloman 4:7

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
