A show basically about nothing, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia has wormed its way into viewer's hearts with its charming characters and compelling storyline. Here are a few reasons why It's Always Sunny has become so successful since it first aired in 2005.
1.The show takes place in arguably the greatest city in the world, Philadelphia (and yes, I might be biased because of where I grew up).
2.The characters are rich, developed people full of great morals.
3. Because the first season had such poor ratings, the network, FX told them that they had to hire someone famous, and they chose Danny DeVito to play Frank Reynolds.
4.The show addresses real problems the audience can relate to.
5. Creator and star Rob McElhenney gained about fifty pounds for season seven of It’s Always Sunny simply because most TV stars get better looking as a television series goes on.
6. You learn very useful life lessons.
7. A basically illiterate Charlie writes a musical that “The Gang” decides to put on and the result is hilarious.
8. "The Gang” also invented probably the greatest board game ever.
9. Charlie’s main love interest, known only as The Waitress, rejects his every romantic advance… despite the fact the two are married IRL.
10. Speaking of relationships, stars Rob McElhenney (Ronald “Mac” MacDonald) and Kaitlin Olson (DeAndra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds) are also married IRL, even though their characters rarely get along.
11. And finally, this show has been renewed for a thirteenth and fourteenth season, making it the longest-running live-action comedy in television history.
