I have enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. Whether it was random little to-do lists or making up some fictional story, I have always enjoyed and loved the action of putting all the ideas from my head onto a paper. I have total creative freedom to write about what I whatever I want, however I want. It is the perfect way to get everything out in front of you.

It was, and still is an outlet for me. I am able to clear everything out of my head and place it somewhere that I can see it all out. Words give me the outlet that I need to express everything going on inside. Now I’m not really one of those pour out your soul and all your feelings into a notebook type of person, nothing wrong with that, just not me, but nonetheless I still can’t deny the power of that either. I just simply prefer writing out all the ideas that circulate in my mind.

Just the simple act of my pen going across the page, the smoothness of the pen hitting the paper, and being able to see everything flow across the page, brings so much potential. Once I start writing, there’s a whole flow of inspiration that comes through.

Writing encompasses such a wide range of things. The power of written word can change, and even save, lives as we have seen throughout history. We all have different stories, different experiences, and nobody else can write what we ourselves would. If not for ourselves, we owe it to others to write about things that nobody else can write in the same way.

The power of our words is a great gift that was bestowed upon us. Whether it’s writing down traditions and memories to be passed down, or just to flow ideas, writing is a powerful medium.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
