365 days. 8,760 hours. 525,600 minutes. All broken down into 31,449,600 seconds. What seems like it comes in such surplus amounts, flies by in the blink of an eye.


In all these days, hours, minutes and seconds, it is our story that is being written, and the most beautiful part of it all is that we have the power to write it. It is in every single person’s power to show up the way they wish, and let God do the rest.

After 2017, and these 31,499,600 seconds we have spent writing our story, there are 10 questions that each of us should ask ourselves to make sure the story we are writing is one that is our own.

1. What are you most proud of?

2. What would you have done differently?

3. Who do you see differently in your life?

4. Who did you make an impact on?

5. What do you want to let go of?

6. What do you want to hold on to?

7. Are you pursuing your passion?

8. Are you an inspiration?

9. What do you want to make happen in 2018?

10. Are you a better person now, at the end of 2017, than you were on the very first day?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
