You Don't Have To Worry About The Future If You Give It To God

You don't have to carry this burden.

I have a tendency to worry about almost everything. I worry about things the majority of the population doesn't even give a second thought to. I consider the details of situations; it is difficult for me to see the big picture. I anticipate all the things that could go wrong, rather than focusing on what could go right.

I plan, too. I plan out most of my days. I feel this constant need to constantly move. When I'm not working, I'm working on homework. When I'm not working on homework, I'm at the gym. Sitting still drives me crazy.

You see, it is in those moments of stillness that we come face-to-face with ourselves. In the silence, in the dead of night, we see ourselves for what we really are. The night is very unforgiving. It is in the night when we worry the most, when we ponder our pasts, and contemplate what the future may hold. However, no matter how much we think or plan, life doesn't always turn out the way we thought it would.

Today God stopped me in my tracks. Today I realized, once again, that no matter how much I plan, Jesus has the final say. He has all authority. He knows what my future holds. He has a plan.

Friends, you will destroy yourself if you honestly think that you can handle life alone. It is okay to be broken. It is okay to cry. It is okay to be sad, to be happy, or even mad. It is okay to be human. If we had it all together, we would have no need for God!

I know how hard it is to understand God's plan at times. I know that His plans are not our plans. But friends, I am GLAD that He and I have different plans. I stand in awe of all of the things He has done for me, of how good God is to me, even though I don't deserve His goodness.

ALL things work together for the good of those that love Him! (Romans 8:28)

Let me put it to you like this: Jesus takes care of the grass (bear with me). The Bible says that He clothes the grass of the field, even though it withers away. If He takes care of the grass, how marvelous His plans for you must be! (Luke 12:28)

Jesus has a plan for you. He will lead you to places that are better than you ever thought possible. He will guide your steps. He will do all these things if you let Him. He can work out your future, and He will make your paths straight. He will fight the battle of the future for you. You'll no longer have to bear the burdens of this world when you give God control over your life.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
