Nothing surrounding you but clouds, the soft mumble of a purring engine, and the smell of crappy airplane food; your senses are going crazy in excitement as your 9 hour flight comes to a close. You can't wait to take your first step onto this new foreign ground which you've heard countless stories about and learned about in your textbooks. Well this is it, your first experience in what you will quickly learn is a new world, with new faces, places and feelings.

Dive in head first and leave no stone un-turned.

Bonjour! Welcome to the chic and vintage city of Paris, France. Fashion and culture overwhelm every inch of the city. Even those people who reek of cigarette smoke still manage to smell like fresh baguettes and steamy hot coffee. Walking up and down the streets, you will find yourself passing by people dressed in leather jackets layered on sweaters and shirts because the weather, no matter the season, is always on the colder side. Somehow, even despite the cold, the faces that pass you by always seem to have this natural glow and warmth. The pace of the city is the perfect marriage of fast and slow as people have places to be and people to see, but also are aware of every footstep taken on the concrete. This city has changed you and opened your eyes tremendously to the idea of history as it is tucked away into every corner of the city.

Gooday mate! Welcome to England, where our accents make everything more attractive! Nothing excites the soul more than a trip to the gorgeous Buckingham palace; gold lined gates and the changing of the guards ceremony is sure to thrill...And certainly you can't forget the hundreds of food trucks lining the streets. Wait, do I smell waffles and chocolate? Must be just my imagination. Either way, now I'm hungry. I better go down to the local pub and grab myself some bangers and mash with a Guinness. Also, call me crazy, but I love the fact that a ferris wheel can be considered a national monument..I mean thank gosh for the London Eye. With breathtaking views paired with an unreal amount of nervous jitters there better be a tall chilled beer mug.

Seeing through a different set of eyes, now you have truly transformed as a person. Even though you might have had reservations about a new place, with an unknown language, and major jetlag, you quickly realize after returning home that every second of un-comfortableness melted away effortlessly. Each day your newfound passion for adventure inspires you to let go of your inhibitions. A new road has been paved in front of you, and every step you take will forever be different as a result of your new-found mentality. All you can do now is, dive in head first, and let your travels and experiences excite you for the rest of your life.

As always, stay beautiful and keep reading....

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
