I’ve been a Dairy Queen employee for almost a year now, so, to celebrate this anniversary let's take a look back at what every employee *~loves~*.
1. When a customer walks up to the menu and hasn’t decided on their order.
I’m not trying to rush you guys or anything, and I’m more than happy to take your money, but can you speed it up a bit? There’s a line. “I CAN HELP WHOEVER'S READY!!”
2. When a customer orders a LARGE blizzard.
And please don’t let it be a complex blizzard. I have to mix these twice. Twice! And the cup breaks almost 50 percent of the time. Do you know how much effort goes into making these? Dis tew much..
3. When you go on break and it starts to get busy.
Sometimes I feel bad about this but then I remember that everyone does it and I deserve this, so it’s okay. I sit there and think, “I hope they’re gone in 15 minutes…”
4. When you’re cleaning up and someone asks you to make them a blizzard.
Okay, first of all, I know you see me sweeping this floor. Second of all, I KNOW SOMEONE IS BEHIND THAT COUNTER! ASK THEM!! Third of all, what can I get for you?
5. When a customer tells you to keep the change.
Bless you and your family for generations to come. Wow. Sensational. WE MADE IT.
6. When the Blizzard machine breaks the cup.
A cup breaks at least once a day when I’m working. Not only is this super embarrassing but I could have blended my finger off.. Help DQ employees out by not ordering extra stuff in your blizzard or maybe just always buy oreo.
7. When a customer walks in at the last minute and asks if you’re still open.
Me: “Yes…” I say as I stand right in front of the exit with all the lights off at 8:59 pm, “What can I get for you?”
Customer: “I’d like a banana split, a large cookie dough blizzard and everything else on the menu.”
