It’s quite an exciting time in my family. Both of my older brothers are engaged. I never really saw this happening because of the age difference and also because, well, my brothers are something else. I love them to death but oh my goodness they can be a handful. However, as their little sister, I look up to them more than anyone even though they drive me crazy sometimes. Back in the day, I didn’t have a super close relationship with my brothers like I do now. Honestly, looking back on where they have been, I couldn’t picture either of them ever being married (it’s still a little hard sometimes to picture that to this day), but things are a bit different now. As we all matured, we all grew closer. They slowly but surely became my best friends and I started to look at them differently. Instead of wondering if they were ever going to get married, I started to worry about who they would marry. So that is why I would like to take a moment to appreciate the people that have agreed to marry my best friends.

The first thing I would like to say to you girls is thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Seriously. Not only should I thank you for being so amazing to my brothers, but I would also like to thank you for being two more positive role models in my life. You are both successful, beautiful, educated, intelligent, selfless, kind, and loving women that I look up to so incredibly much. I cannot thank you enough for giving me that. I would also like to thank you because without you two in my brothers’ lives I wouldn’t have two more positive relationships to look up to. I have a lot of confidence that I know what a beautiful and selfless relationship is suppose to look like because of the love I see in my parents, and now the love I see in you two and my brothers’. It’s a weird thing for a little sister to experience. I’ve seen them go through different stages in their lives and so many different emotions, but nothing ever can prepare you for the moment you see your brother look at the love of his life. I remember the exact moment that I realized the love that was shared between you guys. I remember thinking on numerous occasions, “Wow. I want someone to look at me like that one day”. It was and still is absolutely beautiful. When you guys laugh and smile, there they are looking at you with the gentlest eyes I have ever seen. It’s a very strange, comforting, warm, and loving moment for a little sister to see, and it has shown me what I deserve later on in life. I deserve someone who looks at me with the same type of eyes and with the same amount of love. And I have no doubt that I will cry like a baby when I see how they look at both of you on your wedding days.

The next thing is the influence you have had on their lives. My parents did a pretty amazing job at raising us and molding us into the people we are today, and you continue to help with that process. Like I said, I know how they were before you girls came along and they were amazing guys still. However, there are a few changes I have seen in them that are no doubt for the better. They are filled with so much joy because of you two. You two are so kind and loving, that it definitely rubs off on them. You make them better people. You are always there for them. You are amazing role models for not only me, but for them as well. My dad always says that my mom is the greatest woman that he knows and I truly believe that this is how both of my brothers think of you girls. You have so many of the same qualities that my mom has and I know that means the world to me to see because I think my mom is the greatest woman in the world and we all look up to her. So I know how lucky the boys are to have you girls as their future spouses because of the beautiful traits you possess.

I would also like to say good luck. I know you both know the challenges that come with being around my brothers, but I truly believe that you complement each other and that’s incredibly important.

But seriously, thank you. Thank you for always letting me be the third, fifth, or seventh wheel (depending on the amount of family members) when we do stuff together. Thank you for sticking up for me against my brothers. Thank you for being such positive influences in my live and my brothers’ lives. Thank you for being so incredibly kind and selfless. Thank you for letting me be a part of your big day. Thank you for making it possible for me to finally have sisters. Thank you for everything.

I don’t have any sisters obviously, so it was incredibly important to me that my brothers found people that were kind, good role models, and people that I can have conversations with. I thank God every day that they found people like you two. I honestly cannot think of two better people to be with my brothers. They are amazing men and you definitely chose wisely and so did they. However, I still have those days where I wonder, “How in the world do they have these amazing fiancés?” but then I am reminded of the incredible men that they are and it only makes sense that they are with amazing women who have helped them become the wonderful men they are today. What more could a little sister ask for? It’s because of these two women that my family has gained so much more love than I ever thought was possible. I can only hope that when I find someone to join our family that they are as loving, selfless, kind, and compassionate as the two women joining our family next year. I hope and pray that is the case.

So as you can see it’s a win for everyone. My brothers each get an amazing spouse and I finally get sisters. And I'm pretty dang excited about it.
