To my best friend abroad,

How are you? You are coming home soon and I cannot wait. I hope you have enjoyed your time away from America. From what I've seen on Facebook, Instagram, and everything else, you look you are having the time of your life. It is weird that you are experiencing the world without me. We have been so close since we met and it only seems right to do everything together, but I am so happy that you are happy and doing new and exciting things.

I hope that you met amazing people. I hope that you met people that made you feel as though home wasn't so far away. I hope that you made lasting friendships that you will treasure forever.

I hope you ate lots of good food. I hope everything was absolutely delicious and you couldn't stop eating. I hope that you took pictures of every meal because no food looks like that in America.

I hope you saw lots of cool things. I hope that you looked like a tourist, because who cares? I hope that you post throwback pictures on Instagram for the next year.

I hope that you shopped a lot. I hope that you spent a lot of money and you spoiled yourself because you deserve it.

I hope you experienced adventure. I hope you took in everything. I hope you had fun the most fun you have ever had in your life. I hope you learned lots of new things.

I hope that you made memories that will last a lifetime. I hope that you didn't miss America too much. I hope you found who you are as a person by living in a new country for a semester. I hope that you have an appreciation for the beauty of the cultures of our world.

I hope you have a safe trip home. I hope that we spend hours catching up over coffee and cookies. I want to see all of the pictures and hear all of the crazy stories.

I hope that you had such a great time that you want to go back, but you need to take me with you this time because we need to travel and take on the world together. I hope that you teach me everything you learned.

So, I'm just really excited that you are coming home. I cannot wait to have my best friend back into my life again. It has been so long since I have seen you. Although I am happy that you are having a once in a lifetime experience, I am so glad that you are traveling home to bring back your amazing experiences to America. My biggest hope for you is that you fell in love, maybe with a person or maybe not. But, I hope you fell in love with a new country, a new language, a new people, and a new culture. I hope your experience was everything you had wished for and more.
