If you're anything like me, fashion will always trump comfort. For example, I once got frostbite all over my feet during a snowy winter photoshoot because socks with my boots would've thrown off the whole outfit - I know, how stupid of me. I'd refuse to wear hats that would mess up my hair and even ditch the coat at home all in the name of fashion. Now that I live in 'The Windy City', my mindset has changed a bit. With these chilling temperatures and icy conditions, I can't afford to walk the streets with just a sweater and jeans; however, that doesn't mean I have to sacrifice any cute outfits to stay warm! To prepare for what's to come, I've compiled a list of five winter must-haves that not only protect you from the cold but keep you on-trend with looks that turn heads.
1. The "teddy" jacket
Do you ever, I don't know, get an adrenaline rush when you find a really good deal shopping online? Because same. I was SO excited to have come across this under $30 jacket on Zaful's website, but to be honest, I should've paid more for what I ordered. "Isn't this just any old beanie?" you may ask. No, it's not. IT'S GOT A FREAKIN POM POM. This simple fur-ball on the top adds both personality and 3 inches to your height. This hat makes you easy to spot in a large crowd, memorable to that cute guy, and safe from falling snow & ice.
3. The oversized scarf
