Standing in line on Saturday night, waiting in line for the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, I was immediately brought back to the movie premier of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban a few years earlier. My friend and I had went together in our Hogwarts robes, and our Gryffindor house scarves (although, a few years later, I was officially 'sorted' as a Ravenclaw).
Now, 12 years, a couple books, and an amusement park later, not one thing has changed for Harry Potter lovers everywhere. I stood in line surrounded by the swishing of wizards robes and the occasional murmur of a cast spell, just like I did twelve years ago. Only this time, I'm a decade or so older, buying the book with my earned money instead of my parent's, and this time, I have a new appreciation for the series that provided me with some of my best childhood memories.
As I grow, I return to the Harry Potter books frequently, and every time I fight in Dumbledore's Army, I have something different to take from the battle. Here are 10 reasons why I will always love Harry Potter.
1. Because Dumbledore taught me that "Death is but the next great adventure"
I can only hope death's adventure is equivalent to those within the wizarding world.
2. Because Harry isn't the only one fighting Dementors.
And you aren't either. Expecto Patronum!

3. Because Hermione taught me that anyone can make a difference.
Especially grade four witches forming a Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare.
4. Because Fred and George taught me to question authority.
When needed, of course. And the best time to question authority is during the O.W.L. exams at Hogwarts. This was promoted by Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
5. Because Luna taught me it's okay to be different.
Quibbler, anyone?
6. Because Ron taught me you can do anything you set your mind to.
Including trying out for the Quidditch team. Although, I may need some liquid luck.
7. Because Neville taught me to be brave.
Even when slicing off the head of a giant snake.
8. Because Dobby reminded me of the importance of loyalty.
Even if he isn't exactly loyal to his Master's house (and can you blame him?) That's okay though, he had Harry's back and that's all that matters.
9. Because the Malfoys taught me that it is okay to walk away.
Even from the Dark Lord and the biggest battle in wizarding history.
10. Because Lily and Snape taught me the importance of love.
We choose to forget that Snape was the worst teacher. Love wins every battle. Including the Battle of Hogwarts.
I will continue reading Harry Potter for the rest of my life, and each time, I will remember everything I love about the series. After all, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.
