If you're a female, you understand that there is no better feeling than taking your bra off after a long day. There's no relief quite like it, which has to make you wonder why you would put yourself through that in the first place, because if you're anything like me, you dread it. But lucky for me, going bra-less has become as trendy as avocados these days. So now is the time to embrace it! This obviously isn't a new concept, but the faux pas of leaving the house bra-less has finally been lifted.
One of the worst things about wearing a bra is that it's almost never the perfect undergarment. It's not cute having your bra straps fall off your shoulders, or to have your bra showing with the top you're wearing — unless you're wearing a bralette, which is totally different from a conventional bra. A lot of girls also have trouble finding bras that fit them, though there are professionals that literally make their living off of helping you find the right size. The worst is when a bra that is too small rides up in the back and squeezes you in all the wrong places. A bra that is too big is guaranteed to plague you with a nip-slip. And then there are sticky bras. They are a relatively new concept which was all the rage when it first emerged, but that ended we realized that even the slightest bit of sweat would ruin the adhesive causing your bra to slide right off.
Fortunately, you don’t have to deal with any of those issues if you embrace the bra-less trend. Countless celebrities have paved the way for women by going rocking the braless look. In fact, we just celebrated national No Bra day on October 13th, dedicated to raising awareness for breast cancer. Science has found that bras do absolutely nothing to benefit our breasts. Studies even showed that the breasts of women who didn't wear a bra lifted over time in comparison to women who did. Furthermore, the findings suggest that wearing a bra from an early age does nothing to help support the chest, reduce back pain or prevent breasts from sagging.
So ditch your bra and go bra-less! Or consider switching to a bralette. I'm not sure when society decided that women shouldn't embrace their natural bodies, though we seem to continually struggle with this. But ladies, do your part in fighting the oppression of women and go bra-less! Your perkier boobs will thank you, and me, for it later.
