If you are looking for a new series to start on Netflix that is part love story and part thriller, then you will absolutely love "Revenge." With so many Netflix shows to choose from, I thought it was hard to find one that is the perfect balance of love story and action, until I came across this show. "Revenge" originally started on ABC a few years ago and just ended in 2015. It’s that type of show that you start at 8 p.m., and find yourself struggling to keep your eyes open at 2 a.m., managing to finish the episode. I can confidently say that the day I started watching "Revenge" was the day I completely messed up my sleep schedule.
The series flip-flops between thrilling action scenes, and “aww” worthy love scenes. It’s the perfect show for anyone who likes suspense, but also doesn’t mind a cute love story or two.
This crazy show begins with a not-so-innocent little girl named Amanda Clarke, aka Emily Thorne (yes, she has two names). The reason she has two names is the whole plot of the show, so to know why you’re just going to have to watch it. She is a hard-headed girl who finds herself in all types of trouble attempting to avenge her father who was wrongfully sent to prison.
She actually lands herself in "juvie" as a result of her very rough past in foster homes. After she gets out, she is approached by a man who introduces himself as a friend of her father that she barely got to know because of his wrongful imprisonment when she was just a small girl. She is skeptical at first but begins to trust this man once she notices that he came bearing gifts from her father in prison.
From there she and this man, known to be a tech genius named Nolan Ross, who was a close friend and business partner of her father’s, begin a whole journey of plotting and taking down every single person in their path. They became inseparable masterminds that together form the perfect evil team that just so happen to be fighting for the same cause ... justice for Amanda Clarke’s father.
This series has way too many twists and turns to even explain, but it is surely a series that keeps you hanging on the edge of your seat. Every time you try to predict what happens next, the exact opposite happens.
So many characters come in and out of this series each season it’s hard to keep up. Some characters are even resurrected from the dead, so much so that it makes this show impossible to stop once it’s started. With the amount of crazy things that happen, between all of the action, killing, love stories, and sad endings, you will never leave your bed and laptop.
So once you finish your latest obsession on Netflix, start "Revenge." I am positive you will be staying up at insane hours of the night just dying to see what insane thing happens next.
Happy watching!
