"Grey’s Anatomy" is arguably one of the most popular and impactful TV shows that have ever played on television. With an average of about 15 million viewers consistently for the first 11 seasons of the show, that places the show at the number nine spot on the best shows on Netflix right now.
But forget all the numbers, if you really wanted to know all that you could have looked it up yourself. As I, and most every other teenage girl who has watched this show, can tell you this show is much more than the numbers. Not many shows can make you feel every emotion that there is out there while simultaneously making you not want to turn off the TV.
As many religious viewers can tell you, this show becomes more than just a show to us almost immediately after you begin watching, you connect so well with these cold, heartless and highly intelligent characters, the crazy and heart-wrenching subplots and the feeling as if you can be a surgeon because you have watched all of your favorite characters learn how to do an appendectomy a million times.
Like most shows, you won't want to stop watching, but that isn't what makes this show so special to all of us who watch it. The show has been on TV for about 11 years now, it is currently in its 12th season and is signed on to do a 13th after that. This show has stood the test of time, airing more seasons than "The Office" or "Friends," and bringing more tears to your eyes while doing so.
If you need any reason to watch "Grey's Anatomy" other than the reviews or countless heartfelt screencaps that you have seen on Twitter or Instagram or anywhere honestly, then just watch it because it gives you everything you think you need to know about being an adult.
The show taught me that you can have casual sex, sometimes with your friends, and that’s okay because you're an adult and you can do as you please. It also taught me that if you stay in one job long enough, you're bound to have at least one, maybe two, of your long lost relatives show up and make your life fantastic.
For us ladies, if you want to watch a show that gives you plenty of good looking men to look at for 45 minutes at a time, this is the show for you, but men don’t get me wrong -- the female cast on this show is not hard on the eyes either.
And finally, if you aren’t convinced that you should drop everything you're doing and watch this show right now, you should know that the quotes you can pull from this show to use on your future boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife, are killer and definitely can pull out the romantic in all of us.
