Why You Should Live Like Miley Cyrus

Every single night and every single day, we should all just do our thang.

Why You Should Live Like Miley Cyrus

Believe me, I think Miley Cyrus is just as crazy as the next person. The difference though, is that I don't let other people calling her crazy affect my opinion of her, because I've always thought that you have to be a little crazy and weird to make life interesting. From the Hannah Montana days to twerking on Robin Thicke with a foam finger on stage at the 2013 VMAs, I for one, think there are a lot of reasons we need to listen to Miley.

On Making Mistakes

We learned from Hannah Montana some time ago that nobody's perfect, and we still hear it from Miley now. She's showed us that mistakes are a critical part of growing up, imperfections are beautiful, and perfection is a little boring.

On Being Your Own Biggest Fan

If you don't think you're awesome then who else will? We live in a world that acts as though we live under a microscope, constantly considering our looks, our weight and what people think about us, and thinking of ways to change ourselves. I admire Miley Cryus's self-confidence. She does whatever she wants and laughs if off when people have something to say about it. What would the world be like if everyone adopted that kind of "I don't care I'm awesome anyways" view about their life?

On Not Always Getting Your Way

At this year's MTV Video Music Awards, all viewers witnessed the showdown between Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj. When Nicki tried to call Miley out for something she said in an interview, Miley brushed it off and proceeded to make a joke about how she's lost awards but persevered because "it's no big deal, it's just an award." We can't be winners all the time, but it's how you accept the losses that really matters.

On Britney Spears

Miley shows us that it's still okay to fangirl over Britney Spears (as if anyone was really questioning it). This pop princess will always be relevant, and if Miley says it, then everyone should listen.

On People

People can't be judged by their looks or the way they act. Sometimes people are not all that others make them out to be. You can't really judge someone until you've actually met them, and even then what you see on the outside might not match their true personality on the inside.

On Being the Subject of Conversations

If anyone knows how to get people talking, it's Miley Cyrus. People are going to talk about you no matter what you do -- it's inevitable. If you spend more than two seconds getting worked up about what people say about you, then you need to reevaluate your priorities. If people are going to talk about you anyway, then you might as well give them something to talk about, and Miley does just that.

On Moving On

Stuff happens, life happens, life goes on. Why dwell on the past when you could be focusing on the future? Close that chapter of your life and look towards the better things ahead.

On Being Happy

At the end of the day, the person who has to be happy is you. Don't waste your life away doing what you think will make other people happy, especially those who wouldn't do the same for you. Choose happiness and get rid of the things that have a negative impact on your life.

Everyone should live life like Miley Cyrus. Don't dwell on the negatives -- focus on the positives. Stand up for what you believe in. Wear bright lipstick (Miley Cyrus Viva Glam for MAC specifically) and stick out your tongue if that's what makes you happy. After all, it's our party we can do what we want to. And if twerking and dancing around on stage with teddy bears is wrong, do you even want to be right?? Forget the haters cause somebody loves ya.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
