Odyssey is a growing platform where young people can actually share their stories. The thing I love about Odyssey is it's not specifically a platform for journalism only. Odyssey, according to their website, has over 14,000 content creators, over 1,000 communities, and 30 million monthly users. For a company that started only two years ago, it's amazing to see what it has become today.

The best part about Odyssey is that you don't have to be a journalism major, or even like journalism. Most content creators, like me, have a passion for writing. Odyssey allows us to write about our interests and share them with our peers, friends, family, and the world.

These are some of the Odyssey positions you can hold in your local Odyssey community:

Content creators:

Content creators are the fuel that helps keep the fire alive at Odyssey. Content creators are to write one article a week, and then they are responsible for getting their shares out! Their hard work doesn't go without notice either; each writer could get $20 at the end of the week for receiving the most shares. The people Odyssey usually look for to be content creators are writers, social media influencers, community leaders, and people who are just creative in general!

While photography used to be a separate category altogether, we're also looking for photographers as content creators. Aspiring photographers can share their work through photoblogs with short descriptions. Videographers are also encouraged to join and share their vlogs through Odyssey and build a following along the way.

Contributing editors:

The contributing editor is the editor-in-chief's right hand; they work with the EIC and content creators every week to help improve their team by helping edit articles for the EIC, sharing ideas and feedback with content creators, and update spreadsheets and other data weekly for the EIC.

Social media directors:

The social media is in charge of helping the team get more shares and views on their articles every week. They will post the articles on different social sites, thus increasing page views and shares. Also, the SMD will send a few articles from their community to the assistant managing director in New York, which will be sent to Odyssey with the chance of being published on Odyssey's social media pages!

If you haven't thought about joining Odyssey yet, maybe now's the time. Odyssey is growing bigger and bigger every day; right now is the time to get involved with this amazing platform! Apply here today to be a part of your local community!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
