Most people, when starting out with yoga, when they’re going for their very first class, will probably give the same few reasons as their WHY. The most common answers to where someone might go to their first yoga class, or what people say that they hope to gain from yoga, are flexibility, fitness, and stress relief.

But, for the more seasoned yogi, they most definitely will have different answers. A seasoned yogi will tell you that yoga for them offers self reflection, the practice of being kind, self awareness, and broadening spiritual horizons.

Here are some other reasons to give yoga a shot.

You meet amazing people. The people you meet through yoga, wether its people at your studio, or if you follow yoga on instagram, are people that are some of the kindest around. The people that have entered my life because of yoga are some of the best I have ever met.

You will improve your mobility. Yoga not only helps with flexibility but also helps with every day movements.

You will feel calm from your practice. Relaxation is one of the best benefits of yoga. You will feel like jell-o when you're done, and you will be so much less angry or tired or whatever it was you were feeling before you began your practice.

You will remember to breathe. One fundamental of Yoga is the art of breathing. Thats right, breathing is an art ladies and gents. Yoga teaches you to find your breath and stay with is through your poses.

It can help with anxiety. For a lot of people, when they practice yoga, it helps them be aware of their emotions, relax, and handle, or cope better, with whatever it is that is triggering the anxiety. Many people who aren't to keen on the idea of taking prescription pills, would much rather do something like yoga.

Your posture will improve. A good posture is all about being aware of your body. That is where yoga will help. When you are practicing Yoga you are aware of your body, thus making you aware of your posture.

You will feel more connected to yourself - and others. Yoga helps you connect with your own body and mind, and the relationships you build with people who share a love for yoga are just a plus, really.

Tone muscles. Like any other physical fitness training, yoga can help you achieve those toned muscles you are looking for.

It can help relieve chronic pain. Certain yoga poses are proven to help with back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, and the list goes on.

Yoga could transform your life and become one of your favorite hobbies. So why not give it a try?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
