I know what you're thinking... a guy in a frat is the last person you would want to date! This is the inevitable thought of many girls as a result of the negative stereotypes of guys in fraternities. However, many of them are much more than just "over-confident" or "preppy" alcoholics.
From my experience in Greek life, I have come to find that men in fraternities actually have a lot going for them. Many of them have adopted great senses of maturity due to the amount of responsibility that comes with being part of an organization with so many events and rules. For example, fraternities are constantly hosting socials, partial proceeds, parties, and other events that demand a lot of organizing and planning from every member. This helps with social, organizational, and time management skills. You don't have to worry about your date being late ever again.
Also, fraternities are largely involved with philanthropies. Members of fraternities spend a lot of time raising money for a good cause, which means your man is sympathetic and caring. In addition, he is making a difference for the better within his organization, which is immensely honorable. You can even help get involved by accompanying him to philanthropy events. This gives you the opportunity to make a difference, too!
On a different note, men in frats have a lot of connections. They can introduce you to a lot of people that you may not meet otherwise. They can take you on events to places you may not have had the chance to visit otherwise. For example, at the end of this semester I will be traveling to Tybee Island, Georgia for my boyfriend's fraternity formal. It's a once in a lifetime experience that I probably would have never gotten to experience otherwise. Overall, they open up so many new experiences for you to partake in, and they sure know how to have fun doing it.
Although the stereotypes can sometimes be true, I know now that I'm with my boyfriend who is in a frat that they are the very best guys to date. They are caring, mature, responsible, and they are always having a good time. They can be your best friend who is down to go out with you whenever you want, even if it's every night. You'll constantly have something fun to do and he will never be a bore.
I advise everyone to find herself a frat guy and start living life the way college is meant to be. These are some of the best years of out life and it is so important to make sure you're having fun and keeping good company. I can promise that if you find the right one, Greek guys are the way to go.
