Sometimes going into work can be dreadful and tiresome before you even arrive. Thankfully, when you work at a great place, some great people come along with it. Here are a few reasons why your work friends are the best.
1. They understand your day.
When you have a stressful or bad day at work and need someone to complain to, work friends are there for you and understand where you are coming from. They know exactly how hungry customers can act or how annoying it is to restock products and refold every single shirt in the store. They know the headache that can come with answering calls from customers, especially when they are angry. They understand that you may not always want to go out after work because you are physically and mentally drained from the day. For that, we can not thank them enough for that.
2. Work does not feel like work.
What is more fun than getting to work with your best friend? Nothing. When that schedule gets sent out and you see you get to work with your best friends, showing up to work doesn't seem that bad. While work should be taken seriously, doing "work" doesn't seem as much like work when you have great people around that make you excited to be there.
3. They always have your back.
Your work friends know life can be busy and things come up. Whether you got last minute tickets to a concert or came down with the flu, all you have to do is shoot a quick text in the group message and someone will offer to cover your shift.
4. You learn everything about them.
After spending countless hours together throughout the week for months or even years, you learn a lot about your work friends. On slow days, gossip and vent sessions start and before the end of the shift you know more about them then you even wanted to know. You also learn their routine. You know Ashley needs her Monster energy drink to get through the day and Erica needs at least six cups of coffee in the morning to talk to people. After working with people for years, you learn every detail of their life and love them even more.
5. The work family is a real thing.
Your co-workers eventually become family. Long shifts, busy nights and down time to sit and gossip creates bonds. Just as I stated before, your work friends always have your back just like family. We care about each other and want the best for each other. You care about each others kids or grandmas, and you get excited when you see a co-workers family come into your workplace. There's no family like your work family, that's for sure.
While work can be dreadful sometimes, our work friends are what makes it all worthwhile. They deal with your crabbiness on early mornings and put up with your complaining late at night. I wouldn't trade my work family for the world!
