Why Wentworth Is Better Than Orange Is The New Black

1. "Franky Doyle", AKA Nicole da Silva

While being much more adorable and badass than Ruby Rose's character......need I say more?


2. It's based out of Australia

The accents. The use of the slang "cuppa". Everyone is a "mate". -dreamy sigh-


3. Thicker romance

The love between Bea and Allie is much more unpredictable and sincere than Brook and Poussey's (Same with Franky and Ms. Westfall versus Alex and Piper's mess of a relationship).

4. The show as a whole is not as predictable

I love OITNB, but I could sense where the show was going a lot.


5. More gore

There's a lot of violence within Wentworth. Burning, shanking, brutal beatings -- you name it. (A lot of heart-strings are pulled in this series).


6. The adorable sisterhood between characters, versus everyone being so high-strung

Their friendship took off from day one, even if it was very aggressive.


7. How unbelievably trustworthy characters in this series are (especially Maxine)

And what did we learn from OITNB? "Trust no bitch". I disagree 100%.

8. The soundtrack is much better

With tracks from Glasser, Greg Laswell, and Sarah Blasko, you really can't beat it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
