Now New England small towns have a stereotype and also an identity of their own, and then there is the small New England state of Rhode Island. One million strong and full of character, Rhode Island is incomparable to other states in that there are so many unique things to it. Every state has it's lists of "must do's" and "must see's", but if you try to create an accurate one for Rhode Island the list will be as long as the state itself. From food to beaches to everything in between, Rhode Island has so much to offer and especially living away from home for college its crazy how much you realize it offers until you come back.

1. Beaches.

A favorite of Rhode Island and there are plenty of them, from Middle town to Narragansett to Westerly there are plenty of beautiful spots to hit!

2. FOOD.

I am saying this as food in general, the seafood is unreal and there are some pretty amazing restaurants! Most towns have a great local place and in towns such as Providence or Newport there are many go-to places to check out!

3. Del's lemonade.

No matter what anyone says, this is a Rhode Island original and also a summer favorite.

4. Hidden spots.

There are tons of scenic walks, hikes, and different abandoned forts to explore. Some include the Norman Bird Sanctuary hike in Middletown and also Fort Wetherill in Jamestown.

5. Iced Coffee.

Also, we drink a decently fair amount of iced coffee. Coffee milk is a big thing in Rhode Island too.

6. It's a bubbler, not a water fountain.

Really though, people, water fountains are the structures outside of fancy hotels (to us at least!).

7. Scenic locations.

The Cliff Walk in Newport for example is one of the places in Rhode Island that is too pretty to pass up, and has the scenic views to boot!

8. Awful Awful Mondays.

You haven't lived until you have had an Awful Awful from Newport Creamery.

9. Sunsets.

Unbeatable.
