Tattoos are still a very controversial topic today. A lot of people don't like them, and they don't like that tattoos are with you forever. They think that if you have tattoos, it makes you "trashy" or "a druggie" or just an overall bad person. But that is not the case for literally almost everyone who has tattoos.
I have 3 tattoos and they mean everything to me. Tattoos are really cool because they are a piece of artwork that you carry everywhere with you, on your skin. I love my tattoos.
One of my tattoos is a quote from my favorite book and movie series, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. (Now come on, y'all: if you haven't read the books or seen the movies, you are seriously missing out.) This tattoo means everything to me, and people probably think it's dumb because its just a "story," but Harry Potter has been the light in my life on multiple occasions whether I pick up one of the books and start reading, or pop one of the movies in my DVD player. It makes me so happy, and that's why I got the tattoo.
Thats why people get their tattoos, because it represents something to them.
Some people get tattoos in memory of people they have lost, so they are not only in their heart but on their skin, and with them at all times. Some people get tattoos to remind them that they are strong and beautiful and that living is worth it. Some people just need the extra push every day. Some people get tattoos because they want beautiful artwork with them at all times.
No matter the reason, each tattoo often has a purpose.
Having tattoos doesn't make you a bad person; it makes you a unique person. I love looking at people's tattoos and trying to figure out what they mean.
Even when people get random tattoos or get a tattoo on a drunken night, it still makes an excellent story.
I don't think I will regret having my tattoos when I am 80, because they'll be reminders of when I was 19 and how my friends and I all went and got them together.
I love my tattoos, and I'm not a bad person. So if you have tattoos, you should love them too.
