A list of reasons why summer is better season, and why we should all enjoy it.

Why Summer is Better

A while ago I wrote an article talking about how winter is better, but being a multidimensional person, I can also see why summer is better. Being around the corner, we have to talk about what makes summer a great season, and why we should all enjoy it. It may not be my ultimate favorite, but I still do love summer.

THE CLOTHES

Starting off the same as my winter article, I have to talk about the clothes. Honestly, it wasn’t until recently that I fell in love with shorts, sneakers, and cute rompers. I do like the heat, and the tan I get from wearing shorts. It’s certainly a lot easier to dress for the summer than it is for the winter.

LATE NIGHTS

With no school (that’s if you’re not taking summer classes), being out late with friends and maybe not coming home at all is a needed part in summer. Even if you work long hours or long nights during the summer, going out for long nights is a must. It’s hard to go out after work or school during the winter, but when it’s summer, it’s easy to want to go out.

ICE CREAM

I know not everyone likes ice cream, but I’m in love with ice cream. I’m in love with my local ice cream shops, Dairy Queen, and Baskin Robbins. It’s the perfect treat on a hot day, or just about any other day in reality.

GOING TO THE BEACH

Personally I don’t know how to swim and being near the beach terrifies me a bit, but I felt like I had to put this in here just because everyone thinks of the beach during the summer. I’m sure if I knew how to swim, I’d enjoy the beach more. I’d probably go at least once a week. There’s always something fun to do there; whether it be actual swimming, tanning, going just to hang out with friends. The beach is a fun place to be during the summer.

RELAXING

Summer is connotated with relaxation considering the days are warm and long. It’s not that much of a stressful time for people compared to the rest of the year. There are sunny days and walks in the park to help us appreciate this time of year, so that we are able to unwind from the stressful times.

Summer is a great time of year filled with late nights of happiness, and we should all take time to smell the roses in the flower shops. And maybe eat some ice cream while we’re at it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
