Waking up in the morning, I don't even think about what I'm going to put on. Every day it's an extra large t-shirt and, depending on the season, lulu leggings or athletic shorts. Casual but not sloppy, and put-together but not trying too hard. It's the perfect college uniform. Every sorority girl knows the feeling of excitement that comes when you get an email before an event about t-shirt orders, so you can continue to grow your collection. I would go to all social events in my comfort colors if I had the option, but sadly, that's not always socially acceptable. So, if you're anything like me, you're going to understand all of the five reasons that I love wearing big t- shirts.
1. You get to sport your letters.
We all love getting to show off our greek affiliation. The only issue is the fact that admittedly, class time means there is a big chance that you're not wearing makeup or your hair is hidden underneath a baseball cap.
2. After college, it's not going to be ok anymore, so we should embrace it.
In the real world, no one is going to think it's normal when you come to work in a t- shirt that goes down to your knees, so now is the time to embrace it, and take advantage.
3. It's just plain comfortable.
They don't call them comfort colors for nothing, giant t- shirts are comfortable. Wear them to sleep, wear them to class, wear them to parties (maybe not), and no matter what, you will be comfortable, that's guaranteed.
4. Modest is hottest.
Your mom has been saying it for years, and maybe this big t-shirt thing is your way of finally giving in. Sometimes you just want to keep your body to yourself and big t- shirts are definitely the way to do it.
5. Every shirt is like a memory.
Most of my t-shirts are from events, camp, or some type of past experience that was awesome enough that I ended up with a t-shirt, so every time I put it on, it's like a quick glance back at a time when you weren't in class, and you were probably having a lot more fun.
So don't be ashamed ladies, wear that XL with pride and soak up all of the time you have, before you actually have to start dressing like a big girl.
