I want you to take the opportunity to look at a fresh blanket of snowfall. Imagine that you reach out your hand and gently catch one. Upon further examination, you can make note that it is extraordinarily shaped. No two are the same, and yet they are able to come together to make something beautiful. This is much like the role of an individual in society. We often look at the whole, and disregard the individual. It tends to seem as if we fall into a sense of social normality. We lose out on the sight of the individual. Now we typically hear people use the term snowflake as an insult. However, is it an insult to be one of a kind? No one takes a snowflake and looks at it with a desire to see it be identical to all of the rest. It takes countless snowflakes to paint the beautiful winter scenery.
This is almost identical to how many people it takes to fill our beautiful world. It's time that we take the opportunity to appreciate those that do stand out. We should appreciate each and every person for who they are. The individual is important. They make the whole into a possibility. You should never feel like you don't have a role or that you don't fit in. The truth is that you have a role all of your own. If this world was a machine, you would be a gear that keeps the machine running smoothly. We all have a purpose. If you think that you don't, you just haven't had the chance to find it yet. You will have skills that could possibly be unmatched by anyone else. You could be the one to make a difference that pushes the world to be better than it was before. Don't be afraid to be an individual. Be proud of what makes you stand out. You're the only one that will ever be you.
