If you ask someone if they want a pet, most would say yes without hesitation. I mean, who doesn't want a furry companion to keep them company and bring them constant love and joy? Whether you're a cat person or a dog person, the bond between a pet and their owner is undeniably a loving one. A pet provides company without the exchange of words, which is both a valuable and unique bond. Who doesn't want to come home to an excited pet each day and lounge on the couch on weekends with a soft, cuddly buddy? If you answered "not me," you can stop reading here and seek medical attention. However, if you're human and answered "ME ME ME," keep reading to find out why now is the perfect time to adopt.
The wintertime is a crucial time to seek pet adoption because the freezing temperatures and in climate weather pose a large problem for these helpless creatures. Homeless animals such as cats and dogs are subject to the unbearably freezing temperatures of New England winters that we as people can only withstand for a few minutes, even all bundled up. Their coats of fur can only deflect the cold winds and snow for a short period of time, leaving them freezing and alone. Shelters are a safe place for these animals, however they have a capacity and unfortunately cannot house all the animals that seek shelter and love. Need I say more? Now is the perfect time to adopt the pet you, your spouse, your children, or your roommate have been talking about. Even a grandparent who you may fear is lonely could greatly thrive from the company of a loyal cat, who needs minimal tending to. They will bring nothing but joy and love into your life and teach you that a happy life requires no more than a bowl of food and a companion to share it with (not actually because pet food is gross). Take it from someone who grew up with two cats, there is nothing and no one that can fill that bond and for that, I am forever grateful.
If you're not on your way to your local PetSmart, PetCo, All Pets Club, or at the very least searching pet adoption agencies online, what are you waiting for?
