There are many things to be thankful for in life. One of the things I am most thankful for is the relationship I have with my siblings. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have siblings, but I am happy to say that I do. I am even more happy to be as close with them as I am. I will never be able to fully express how thankful I am for them, but I am going to try my best.
Your relationship with your siblings is one unlike any other. My siblings know me better than I know myself (even though I refuse to admit it). They know exactly how to make me laugh and how to make me mad, the latter being something they have become professionals at. A lot of the time, we get on each other's nerves and cannot stand to be around each other, but the times where we are not arguing are the times that mean the most and become the most memorable.
I cannot imagine growing up as an only child and not having someone there to have fun and get into trouble with on a daily basis. Some of my greatest childhood memories include my siblings. Whether we were waking up our parents up at 6 a.m. on Christmas morning to open presents together, playing soccer in the backyard or sleeping in each other's rooms just because we wanted to hang out, we always had a great time together. I would be bored if I did not have them around to be my constant form of entertainment.
My siblings are among the few people I know who will never judge me for being the complete weirdo that I am. When I am getting on their nerves, they let me know that I am being annoying. When I make a joke that they don't think is funny, they tell me how unfunny I am, but in reality, I am the funniest person they know. They are always there for me and support me no matter what and I love them for that.
We might gang up on each other every now and then, but there is one thing that always brings us together, which is our parents. I think the most fun my siblings and I have together is when we are laughing at something dumb our parents said or did. What also brings us together is hiding things from our parents because we know we would get in trouble if they ever found out.
Without my siblings, I would not be the person I am today. I am not the easiest person to get along with, but they put up with me anyway. They truly bring out the best in me, and I aspire to be more like them every day. I admire how hard-working, intelligent and kind they are. Although I will deny ever admitting this, I look up to them. Everyone deserves a best friend, and I am so lucky to have had my siblings be mine for my entire life.
