Music is therapy for me. Music allows me to be able to create whatever I want and be myself.
Of course, this may not be the case for everyone. Learning an instrument is the stressful part. But after you know what you are doing, it is relaxing.
Classes may get hard and your life may get busy, but take some time to strum on your guitar or sing a tune. You may feel that the pressure that is presented to you in your everyday life isn't that bad anymore. This is due to being more connected with your inner self. You are able to clearly see the world through your own eyes, not the eyes that the world wants you to see with. (That is if you are playing music that you can feel).
So let's get some backup here. Musictherapy.org states: "Through musical involvement in the therapeutic context, clients' abilities are strengthened and transferred to other areas of their lives." The article also states: "Music therapy also provides avenues for communication that can be helpful to those who find it difficult to express themselves in words." Bingo. We are able to find answers to things that we cannot seem to figure out through verbal communication with another individual.
Sure, having someone to go to relieving, but the answers will always be found within yourself. Music can give you those answers because you are the one producing it. It is coming straight from your heart.
So take some time to be with you when you are stressed. Then that exam won't seem so hard, that conflict with your friends can be fixed, and the heavy weight of student debt will work itself out if you keep working hard.
