Why You Should Start Riding

When it comes to enjoying a nice ride, there is nothing better than feeling the wind in your face and seeing an open stretch of road ahead of you. Sure you can enjoy this behind the windshield of your car, but why not take it up a notch? Sure you could listen to the people that say motorcycles are dangerous and require a lot of maintenance, but those are the naysayers.

Motorcycles are all about capturing the beauty of traveling on the road. While it may be true that motorcycles don't have the best safety features, a lot of that has to do with freeing the rider. Bikes are great because they allow a rider to appreciate the road that they are traveling on. It is all about feeling the bike, understanding the bike and conquering the road ahead. The freedom of driving a motorcycle is that you feel truly at one with yourself. You are not surrounded by the comforts of a car, but rather the freedom of the open road and the elements around you.

In addition to the elements of freedom, motorcycle riding is an enlightening experience. Besides enjoying the experience of riding, you also have the rewarding experience of getting to know your bike. Like any other vehicle, motorcycles require delicate care and maintenance. Putting in that time to be able to do something you love in and of itself is a rewarding experience. As you learn to care for your bike, you learn to appreciate it more when you ride.

Furthermore, the experience of operating a motorcycle brings out one of the greatest feelings you can get as a rider. Ask most motorcycle enthusiasts, and they'll tell you are not getting the complete riding experience unless you have a manual bike. As more automatic bikes are coming out onto the market, motorcycle enthusiasts are directing new riders to classic manual rides because it is a part of the experience. It takes a certain level of skill, and once you have mastered that skill, the experience is that much more enriching for you.

In addition to actual experience of riding, becoming the owner of motorcycle will open you up to new people and places. One of the best parts of taking your ride out on a beautiful day is seeing other riders on the road. As a fellow rider, you will always get that courtesy wave as you see another enthusiast going down the road. There's a level of respect and camaraderie that comes along with owning a bike. When you meet fellow riders, you get to hear about their wonderful experiences and they might even give you some ideas of where to go or what to do on your next adventure.

When it comes to riding, it truly is an experience like no other. If you enjoy adventure, meeting new people, and seeing new places in an interesting way, then I have no doubt that this is something to add to your bucket list.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
