Why It's So Important To Be Kind

We are all human beings and we all experience our own struggles from internal sources and external sources every day. It can be very easy to get caught up on the negative side of life which seems to sometimes be run by the loudest voices.

Everyone struggles, everyone goes through hardships and this is the very reason why we should always be kind. In this negative society, we all need to stick together. Why add to the negativity? Why not make things better, instead of worse? When was the last time you smiled at someone? When was the last time you did something for somebody or sacrificed something for someone else? Doesn't it feel so great when someone does something kind for you? It's a much more positive, happy, encouraging, and beneficial society when people are being kind and working together in nice ways. Even just one compliment can go such a long way. Complimenting someone or smiling at someone, even saying hello to someone could change the mood of a person's entire day. That's the best thing about just being nice to people. It's the greatest feeling when you make someone feel good about themselves instead of bad. Life isn't one big competition. You should never be focusing on how much better you are than someone else or how much more you have than someone else. That's such a horrible feeling to carry around all the time; to always be worrying about how much better you have to be than others. You can never be truly happy that way.

You will never get long-term happiness when being selfish or treating people badly; maybe short-term. Good karma and long-term happiness will always come to those who do the right thing. People will treat you the way you treat them. What you do for others and how you treat others reflects you, and with a world that is constantly talking about everyone else and getting involved in everyone else's lives, give them something good to talk about. Being kind is the best revenge, it gives you the best feeling, and it has the best outcome.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
