Why It's Never Too Early to be in the Holiday Spirit

In my opinion the Holiday's are the happiest time of the year. It's the time of the year when people are generally more happy, and in the spirit of spreading love and peace; something the world we live in today needs more of.

In the past I didn't understand the way to early Christmas decorating, or why towns seemed to have holiday events closer to Thanksgiving than to Hanukkah and Christmas, but now, as I look at the world through a new and different point of view I understand the early decorating and holiday events that seemed to rush November into December in what seemed to be a blink of an eye.

This year, I am guilty of decorating as what many people would describe as way too early, but I didn't decorate to rush in Christmas or any other holiday, I decorated to bring about the feelings that the holiday's bring. In the wake of what was a very stressful election for many, I thought that the world might find peace and love a little sooner, or at the very least my life and the lives of those around me would be filled with the feelings of peacefulness and love in a very restless world and America.

This year, though it may be early, I fully embrace the holiday spirit in the hopes it will unite people around the world, and America with the thoughts and feelings of peace and love. No matter what holiday anyone celebrates, or what religion we practice, we all live on this earth, we are all human and we should all practice the ideas of spreading love and peace at a time when the world needs it most.

The holiday season is a time to celebrate life, love, peace, and be happy while you are surrounded by friends, family, and anyone that you love. We give gifts to show our love for others, and give to charities to give those less fortunate than ourselves the same feelings of love, acceptance, and hope that we feel when celebrating our own holidays.

Some may hate the holiday season for whatever reason: a too crowded house, mall, etc but I think that if we all look past the superficially created parts of our respective holidays, we will all find that they center around the idea of love and peace for all. Though this concept can be found all year round, at this time of year it is abundant, and I believe we should be drowning in thoughts of peace and love all year long. This feeling should be able to be apparent everyday of our lives, not only during the holidays. It should be heard in everything people say not only in the chimes of carolers as they make their way from house to house, and seen everywhere not only in the twinkling of bright lights. It's never too early to be in the holiday spirit.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
