College students choosing tea over coffee?? Crazy, I know!

Let me start out by saying that I am not here to say that there is anything wrong with coffee, in fact I used to love coffee (be addicted, if I may). And when I came to college, the stigma was that everyone drinks coffee, and while I do enjoy my occasional cup, for some reason I have really taken to tea instead. Oddly enough, I am not alone in this. Many of my friends prefer tea and it's benefits over those of coffee. Here are a few reasons why I would take tea over coffee any day.

1. The health benefits

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F11%2F06%2F6361405307377524581763973574_1.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=881&h=8979fc72f673f5b3529d2f68886821f9ff1c3f9c1bc9088e08d5b5058f424194&size=980x&c=1486571265 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F11%252F06%252F6361405307377524581763973574_1.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D881%26h%3D8979fc72f673f5b3529d2f68886821f9ff1c3f9c1bc9088e08d5b5058f424194%26size%3D980x%26c%3D1486571265%22%7D" expand=1]

There are so many health benefits to drinking tea. There are antioxidants and less caffeine than coffee. It can protect your bones, immune system and heart. There are so many more.

2. There is still caffeine in tea

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F11%2F06%2F636140531632001278-1626739016_2.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=927&h=5bc86af1d7086434ec4a49501152621f728523d892f97a049f99790025299bee&size=980x&c=1333491967 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F11%252F06%252F636140531632001278-1626739016_2.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D927%26h%3D5bc86af1d7086434ec4a49501152621f728523d892f97a049f99790025299bee%26size%3D980x%26c%3D1333491967%22%7D" expand=1]

Many people may not like the taste of coffee, so they drink it for the caffeine. Well rest assured, because there is still caffeine in tea. Black tea actually has 60-90 mg of caffeine compared to 150-200 mg in coffee.

3. It tastes amazing

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F11%2F06%2F636140534371404409-687985829_9.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=698&h=004291bae4a2f76c3155ba372882f556e1f59cb7792e500af94b0452c7811ab7&size=980x&c=1416924732 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F11%252F06%252F636140534371404409-687985829_9.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D698%26h%3D004291bae4a2f76c3155ba372882f556e1f59cb7792e500af94b0452c7811ab7%26size%3D980x%26c%3D1416924732%22%7D" expand=1]

Yes, some people do enjoy the taste of coffee. But for those who don't, tea is a great alternative. Tea can come in all different flavors from fruity to earthy and everything in between.

4. It's a lot easier to prepare tea

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F11%2F06%2F636140530902356983318004443_4.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=525&h=afec96199eba26bcb3369fcff7155a90df7b36e9876f25eb92cb137c1454d1e7&size=980x&c=4167446605 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F11%252F06%252F636140530902356983318004443_4.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D525%26h%3Dafec96199eba26bcb3369fcff7155a90df7b36e9876f25eb92cb137c1454d1e7%26size%3D980x%26c%3D4167446605%22%7D" expand=1]

When you're making coffee, you need some sort of coffee pot and then you need to have already ground coffee beans. Let's just say it takes time. While when making tea, all you need is hot water.

5. Tea doesn't stain your teeth like coffee

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F11%2F06%2F636140535757491664-520203107_3.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=661&h=f719d0ade5d18c6b85958ab67df83344522baaac7da9d07c2e2f7816500bc9b1&size=980x&c=2775736833 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F11%252F06%252F636140535757491664-520203107_3.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D661%26h%3Df719d0ade5d18c6b85958ab67df83344522baaac7da9d07c2e2f7816500bc9b1%26size%3D980x%26c%3D2775736833%22%7D" expand=1]

Coffee is one of the main reasons people have stained teeth and then turn to whitening products. When the coffee touches your teeth, it leaves a stain because of the dark pigments. Tea comes in several types, therefore not all of them are dark and will leave stains.

6. Tea can help reduce stress

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F11%2F06%2F636140531045624457815262516_6.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=938&h=18898d5aa82e85dc470defb9630d95eee18755b121ba63ef11a31c40fc4bd72d&size=980x&c=73411791 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F11%252F06%252F636140531045624457815262516_6.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D938%26h%3D18898d5aa82e85dc470defb9630d95eee18755b121ba63ef11a31c40fc4bd72d%26size%3D980x%26c%3D73411791%22%7D" expand=1]

Studies show that people who drink several cups of tea a day, are more likely to be less stressed than those who choose coffee.

7. It will help to hydrate your body

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F11%2F06%2F636140532362793619-1190717560_7.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=906&h=c12e361651dcb9b5d4e5e807d550bdad9d528274b003db5599bb480d2fdde4b6&size=980x&c=3432606152 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F11%252F06%252F636140532362793619-1190717560_7.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D906%26h%3Dc12e361651dcb9b5d4e5e807d550bdad9d528274b003db5599bb480d2fdde4b6%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3432606152%22%7D" expand=1]

Tea is one of the most hydrating drinks you can have and it will help to nourish your body.

8. Tea just helps you feel all nice and cozy

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F11%2F06%2F636140531199017226-1059315050_8.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=433&h=f0c28f11533a826e3582e1cb1264a4266e92f3fdb4d0f9c66b80609413ab6dfc&size=980x&c=3375685314 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F11%252F06%252F636140531199017226-1059315050_8.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D433%26h%3Df0c28f11533a826e3582e1cb1264a4266e92f3fdb4d0f9c66b80609413ab6dfc%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3375685314%22%7D" expand=1]

6 Things Owning A Cat Has Taught Me

Owning a pet can get difficult and expensive. Sometimes, their vet bills cost hundreds of dollars just for one visit. On top of that, pets also need food, a wee wee pad for a dog, a litter box with litter for a cat, toys, and treats. Besides having to spend hundreds of dollars on them, they provide a great companion and are almost always there when you need to talk to someone. For the past six years, I have been the proud owner of my purebred Bengal cat named Spock. Although he's only seven years and four months old, he's taught me so much. It's fun to see all of the selfies on social media, they are everywhere. I see pictures with pouty lips, duck lips and pucker lips. I see smokey eyes, huge fake lashes and nicely done nose jobs, boob jobs and butt lifts. Women working out in spandex, tiny tops and flip flops. I see tight abs and firm butts, manicured nails and toes, up dos and flowing hair. "Wow", I think to myself," I could apply tons of make-up, spend an hour on my hair, pose all day and not look like that. Maybe I need a longer stick!"
