Ice cream is my favorite sweet. Chocolate, strawberry, salted caramel, cookie crunch, fudge ripple, American or gelato. I don’t 6 AM love anything, but I 6 AM love ice cream.
I will eat ice cream for celebrations. My birthday is in the summer. I always ask for ice cream cake. And why not? It’s the perfect food for a summer birthday - cool and sweet and just the right balance of cream and crunch.
Ice cream is also my go-to pick me up food. If I’m depressed, I will grab some Ben & Jerry’s. If I’ve had a bad day, I’ll grab some ridiculously flavored gelato. If I just have a craving for chocolate, I’ll get some chocolate ice cream.
I couldn’t tell you why I love ice cream so much. Ice cream was always kind of what I imagined magic would taste like. And in a way, ice cream is a kind of magic. Say ice cream, and I bet most people will have fond memories of walking with someone they enjoy on a hot summer day, smiling fondly. Mention ice cream, and a favorite flavor instantly comes to mind. I can guarantee it. Unless, of course, you don’t like ice cream. But it’s hard for me to comprehend that someone would not like ice cream.
I guess the reason for my love doesn’t really matter. The point is, I love ice cream. If someone asks if I want to get ice cream, my answer will probably be yes.
