8 Reasons Having Two Dogs Is Better Than Having One

It's no secret that dogs are the most common household pets. No, really;about 47% of U.S. families own at least one dog. About 8 years ago, my sisters and I convinced my parents to get a black lab. Fast forward 5 years later, and we did it again -- we took another puppy home. Most of our extended family thought we were crazy, as they all only have one dog each. But after even a few days of having two dogs around the house, we forgot what it was like to have only one. Two dogs around the house is definitely better. I could not imagine my house without both Logyn and Lucy for these reasons:

1. You always have two cuddle buddies.

Plus, cuddling and watching Netflix with dogs is so much better than humans. You don't have to compromise as much space or food.

2. You've always got two best friends, no matter what.

Whether you just got in a fight with your friend or weren't invited to that party, you've got two dogs who are dying to spend the night with you -- and won't ditch you either.

3. Two friends are always waiting for you at the door when you come home.

It's such a warm feeling when you pull up to your house and have two little puppies wagging their tails and waiting for you.

4. There's always two puppies who are happy to see you.

Sure, one happy dog is cute. But when you add a second dog, its like having twice the happiness.

5. There are no fights or drama or exclusions between the three of you.

Sometimes in friend groups of three, there is drama and it's hard to get along all the time. When you're in a friend group composed of two dogs and yourself, there's no drama ever!

6. When one is gone, you're not alone!

I've definitely experienced loneliness when one of my friends leaves town for a bit. But you never have to worry about that when you have two dogs. And even if one is away or on a walk, you still have the other to play with!

7. If you're craving a hike, walk or run, they're fighting to come with you.

The hard part is actually picking which one to take with you. Or take both if you really can't pick.

8. Two dogs are always cuter than one, right?

Double the dogs, double the cuteness.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
