Why Girls Are Jealous Of Other Girls

It's not because I don't like you... I envy you.

We all have that one girl who we are jealous of. It is not that we hate them at all, we just wish we were them. They have something we don't. I probably check out more girls than guys because I'm wondering what shade of lipstick they're wearing or where they got their shoes. Our mind automatically jumps to comparing ourselves to one another.

1. There is the girl on Instagram who posts pictures that look like they just came off the cover of a magazine. I scroll through my newsfeed, and I get a little annoyed at myself because I need to step up my photo quality game.

2. The girl with the perfect relationship. Yes, everyone keeps up with how perfect your MCM is, we get it. I just don't know where I can find relationship like that.

3. The girl who is a makeup artist. How do you make your eyebrows so on fleek and your eyeliner so pointy? That contour line is so sharp. That highlight made me cry, why can't I do my makeup like that?

4. The skinny girl. Yeah I am going to scroll through all these pictures while my fat ass eats this pizza. You look like a Victoria's Secret model and I could pass for a beginner sumo wrestler.

5. The girl who knows what she wants. There are always those girls who come out of high school knowing exactly what they want to be and complain about getting a B on a test. Meanwhile I'm over here not even knowing what I am doing tomorrow, let alone the rest of my life.

6. The girl who is nice to everyone. I really try my hardest to be nice to everyone, but I get irritated over stupid things in two seconds. It is exhausting trying to be nice every moment.

7. The girl who can get any guy's attention. I have trouble talking to boys without embarrassing myself. I don’t know how girls can get a guy's attention from across the room because I stare too long and look like a stalker.

Even though you see someone and think they are flawless, everyone has their flaws. Everything that makes you different makes you who you are, and that is something to feel beautiful about. Some girls may seem to have a perfect relationship, but that doesn’t mean you are not just as happy. Someone might be skinnier but the numbers on the scale doesn’t define your beauty. The difference between you and the girl standing next to you does not make one of you better or more beautiful. Our differences make us stand out, and we need to learn to embrace them, after all confidence is sexy. Other girls see you and are jealous of traits and things you have that they don't. Don't let the beauty of others make you feel insecure about your own beauty.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
