Every year stores all over the country stock their shelves high with chocolate bunnies, Cadbury eggs, and assortments of other sweets in preparation for Easter. In the Christian church Easter ranks one of the most important holidays, even above Christmas. We celebrate the resurrection of Christ for one day. Some people are really involved through lent where they give up something for 40 days. As we get older, it seems that Easter becomes less and less important. I remember being a kid thinking of Easter as a second Christmas, but now it just seems like a day where I get to eat more chocolate. I believe it's really important to devote more of yourself into Worship on Easter.
Here are some reasons why Easter is underrated:
1. We only get one day off school.
For Christmas schools get 2 weeks off, for Thanksgiving 2 days off... but only 1 day for Easter. Some people (especially college students) don't even get the chance to go home!
2. People don't decorate enough.
During Christmas and Halloween houses are normally decked out, but when Easter comes some people only have a few bunnies sitting around their house.
3. A majority of the stores are still open.
On other major holidays stores wouldn't dare to be open, especially smaller mom and pop stores. But on Easter most stores are still open.
Remember that Easter is one of the most important holidays of the year, and to always cherish the time you have with family.
