Everyone, at least once will take a eight a.m. class in college.
For some reason, the thought of getting your classes done early in the day sounds so refreshing and you seem like an adult. We all secretly wish we were better morning people, no matter how heavy the bags are under our eyes.
Taking eight a.m's might be hard, but we all have to do them at one point or another. Here is the stages of taking an eight a.m., as told by a female who is currently sitting in one, watching her professor drill a group for a media law case brief.
1. It's six a.m., why is my alarm going off?
What day is it? What have I done? Why did I do this to myself?
2. Brushing your teeth, wondering why you do this
Why didn't anybody told me this is a bad idea? Why didn't anyone stop me?
3. Forgetting your breakfast, drinking OJ after toothpaste
I just swigged down a ton of OJ immediately after brushing my teeth.
So, this is how this day is going to go.
4. Dealing with early morning traffic
How many people DRIVE THIS EARLY??? Why are they driving to his early? WHY ARE WE STOPPING ON THE INTERSTATE? IT'S SIX THIRTY!!!
5. Getting a decent parking spot
Maybe this isn't so bad, I actually get decent parking in the commuter lot! So, this is why people take early-morning classes.
6. Getting the seat you sit in everyday
So, I get here a little early, AND I get the unassigned assigned seat that's mine! This maybe isn't so bad.
7. When they assign group discussions
Does this professor know that it's REALLY early in the morning? No one wants to do group work, we all want to be left alone to sip our coffee and actually wake up. We might be here physically, but mentally we aren't.
8. It's finally over
Finally, the hellish end of taking an early morning class is over. You survived, which means you deserve that Starbucks latte.
BLESS UP
