Sooo.... you want to change your hair?
And yes, I did. I colored my hair purple. And yes it's true, we have way more fun than blondes could even dream of.
Hair has always been a huge part of my life. Sometimes I can actually mark out the distinct times of my life by looking at the timeline of my hair color. I believe that changing our hair at certain periods of our life is one thing that most females (and some guys too) can all relate to. I tend to cut, style, and color my hair based on my moods. If I must deal with stress in my life, I often dye my hair a different color in order to manage my life. Hair doesn't only give me a way to cope with stress, but also a new look. When I change up my hair, it makes me feel like a new person. New hair, new attitude, new me.
Next time you come across someone with bright pink hair, remember that they have been dealing with a ton of stress lately and could use your support. Or, hey they might just be having the time of their lives. All jokes aside, dying my hair gives me confidence and makes me feel better about a situation.
When I came to back to Florida after spring break, I decided it was time for a new and improved me. Whether it's a break up, loads of tests, stress at work, or a newfound habit of pinterest (which I often try to steal hairstyles from) my hair will always be there for me, especially in transitional periods of my life.
While scrolling through my news feed, I saw a post on Facebook that said,
"If she changes her hair after y'all break up, you ain't getting her back.
New hair, new life, new man."
This couldn't be any truer, coming from the perspective of a girl who has been through this plenty of times. Sorry, I changed my hair which means I'm over anyone and everyone. I'm a new person now and no one can bring me down. I didn't just change my hair, I changed my view on life. I developed an attitude that you can no longer handle. And I'm loving it.
Almost anyone who dyes their hair funky colors can relate to this. It's a fun way to look at life. So get your gloves on, make a trip to Sally's and have fun washing royal purple excess dye from your new hair.
