5 Reasons Why Everyone Should Take A Cruise

I recently finished my very first cruise, and I'm ready to go on another one like tomorrow! Honestly, cruising is so much fun I feel like I've been missing out for the past 20 years. My cruise was on the Carnival Liberty, so I can't speak for other cruise lines, but I'm now obsessed with Carnival and cruising in general. Here are my 5 favorite things about cruising! P.s. All of these pictures I took on my cruise.

1. The food

You have many dining options on a cruise ship. On the Liberty you could choose from the Main Dining Room, the Lido buffet, a Pizza place, Guy's Burger Joint, and room service. Mind you, all of this is included! The MDR has the best food of all, with a lovely variety of seafood. Our ship had a special section on the menu each night that featured special items from the ports we had visited that day.

2. The Activities

Believe it or not, there is sooooooo much to do on a cruise ship. There are shows, games, events, etc to participate in. My all time favorite was the casino! I loved playing BlackJack, and it was really interesting because you get to know the dealers and other players. I think some of my favorite people on the ship were the black jack dealers. I also won a few prizes by participating in a scavenger hunt and a game show.

3. The Ports You Visit

Our cruise was a four day to Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas, and left out of Port Canaveral which is right outside of Orlando, Florida. I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the ports were! There was amazing scenery, lovely little shops, and lively bars and beaches. Nassau was huge and there was so much to do. We chose to walk to a local free beach, and bought a package that was $25 all you can drink all day plus a beach chair. In Freeport we took a taxi to Paradise Cove and went Snorkeling around Dead Man's Reef.

4. The views from the ship

Sunset and sunrise from the middle of the ocean are absolutely breath taking. I can honestly say that I've never seen a prettier sunset than the ones I saw on the trip.

5. Seadays

Seadays are when (obviously) the ship is sailing all day and you don't visit any ports. At first I though these days would be boring because you don't explore new ports, but really they are just as fun (in my opinion). The ships are so large that you (usually) will never be able to explore the whole ship. There are many decks with activities and attractions on them, and I promise you won't get bored. If nothing else, these are perfect relaxation days! You could take a nap, lounge by the pool, eat your weight in ice cream, ya know whatever.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
