Christmas is my favorite holiday, and it allows me to bask in all the holiday glory. Here are a few reasons why Christmas is hands-down the best holiday all year:

1. It brings family together.

I know I wasn't the only one who got excited to have my favorite cousin over for Christmas. People who don't live close to their relatives get to spend this holiday with family they don't see often.

2. You get to eat amazing food.

Everyone in the family comes together to help cook a wonderful dinner. You get to stuff your face with all the delicious food you want.

3. You get to decorate your home with beautiful Christmas decorations.

I think we can all agree that decorating the Christmas tree is the best part of the holiday season. Its fun to get the family involved to help put up stockings and ornaments.

4. It's finally acceptable to belt all the Christmas songs at the top of your lungs.

And have no one be annoyed because it's the time of year when you can do this judgement-free. I will be playing Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" from now on and until Christmas is over.

5. You get to pick out gifts for your friends and family.

There's nothing more special than finding things that you know they'll love.

6. You receive gifts from friends and family.

And while opening them is all but too much fun, once you finish, you get to use your gifts while enjoying a nice, warm cup of hot chocolate.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
