Friends are essential to life. Without them, my life would be a mess. A lonely, boring mess.
To start, friends know you can be a little awkward, especially trying to talk to that long-term crush everyone except he seems to know about. But the good thing is, your best friends don't care that you're a little embarrassing. They embrace it.
Friends are always there for you when you need to binge-watch "Friends" on Netflix. They understand when you want to do nothing more than sit on the couch with Netflix, pajamas and food. A lot of food. Sometimes these are the most fun times you have with your best friends. They are even willing to sit beside you, feeding you ice cream after a bad break-up or a stressful and not so successful test week. They're keepers for sure.
Your best friends are constantly supporting you. No matter what you decide to do, your best friends are there to encourage you and look stupid with you. They give you an incredible amount of support and they will be there when no one else wants to be.
Your best friends realize you don't have everything planned out nor do you have to. While everyone is leaving you dumbfounded by asking you what your plans after college are, your best friends are standing next to you just as clueless. Unlike others, they don't give out disapproving looks towards your haphazardness towards the future. They are actually full supporters of it.
Best friends know entirely too much about every aspect of your life. They could probably ruin it within a matter of a few words. You and your best friend have conversations that are strictly off limits to the outside world.. and this is extremely serious. If some of your conversations were to be revealed, y'all might come across as a little bit crazy (not that you are) and quite frankly no one would quite understand anyways.
Whether your best friends live near you or not, you will always have an inseparable bond and connection that can't be broken. These best friends are "your people", your support system, your source of advice, and the people you have made the best memories with. Thanks best friends. I can't thank y'all enough.
