Being in college, money is a thing that students have very little of. I for one do not work while I am out here at college, and rely on my savings and my college credit card that I got through my bank. Here’s a list of things that college students spend what little of their money they have on.
1: Food
The food on campus isn’t always the best sometimes, so ordering take-out or going out to eat is the best option. I see students ordering pizza almost every week, and that can get expensive. But there are some good deals to going out to eat, such as half price appetizers at Applebee’s, $5 foot-longs from Subway and McDonald’s dollar menu.
2: Books for Classes
Buying books or even renting them gets more and more expensive each semester. On average, students spend from $200-$300 on books alone from numerous websites or their university bookstore. So do let’s do the math: students spend $400-$600 for two semesters of college.
3: Alcohol (for those who are of age)
There are many bars and restaurants that have good deals on drinks and food throughout the week. You can’t pass up a good deal, and everybody needs a drink after a long stressful day.
4: Supplies for College
Students need school supplies, food, snacks, water, and cleaning supplies. These things are purchased weekly or evenly monthly. We all need toilet paper and food, because these things run out quickly and need replenishing, especially the toilet paper. If not, you’re going to have a bad time.
5: Students rarely have Time for a Job
Students have a lot on their plates with classes and clubs, which leaves very little time for picking up a part-time job. So that means that students don’t have an income that is constant, which means no money.
