I'm thankful for my family. They're my rock that I can always lean on. Recently I've had pretty big decisions to make and I needed someone to listen to me complain and talk through everything going on in my head. They have always been there for me and I know that won't ever stop. They celebrate my successes and are there for me during the not so pleasant times. They'll always be my biggest supporters and I couldn't ask for anything more.
I'm thankful for my friends. My close friends from high school still seem to be able to brighten any day with a single text message. Even though we don't get to hang out every break we are home I know they are still there for me. I'm thankful for my college friends because they are the ones that I see on a daily basis. They can tell when I'm on the struggle bus and when I just need to talk over a cup of coffee.
I'm thankful for the opportunities I've been lucky enough to have during my time in college. I've held officer positions in my organization. I've moved eight hours away for a co-op (twice). I've had professors that share their knowledge outside of the classroom. I've had an adviser that truly cares about my future.
Part of the problem with our fast paced society is that we rarely take the chance to step back and really show our gratitude for all of the things we have in our lives. It's around this time of the year that everyone posts and talks about what they are thankful for. Everyone always is caught up with the things they are stressing over. Go tell your family members, friends, mentors and significant other that you appreciate them, not just today, but for everything they do for you.
