The show "Riverdale" took the world by storm and seems to just keep getting bigger. With a new season comes new theories about what is going on in this steamy murder-mystery series.
Last season, we found out who took Jason's life, and we believed that everything was figured out and could go back to normal in the town of Riverdale. Now we are left in a whirl of wonder on who shot Fred Andrews. Pop Tate said it was like seeing the Angel of Death, but who is this angel? What motive does anyone have to shoot Fred Andrews, one of the town's beloved citizens?
As Jughead theorizes and Pop confirms, this was not a robber. This was someone posed as a robber but solely showing up to shoot someone. So, who did it?
Hiram Lodge
She and Fred dated in high school, he gave her the chance to work for him and she gave him the contract to Hiram's project. They had somewhat of an office romance, which she ended up regretting because her husband was let out of jail.
She offered to buy him out of the contract to avoid her husband's anger, which Fred refused. She could have potentially hired someone to have him killed.
Motive: She's still mad that he did not let go of the contract, and needs to get rid of him because of her husband.
BONUS THEORY: Hiram and Hermione are working on this together.
Alice Cooper
It was a bit off-putting to see Alice and Betty having a somewhat normal relationship in the season premiere. She started off by being a supportive mom when she heard Fred was shot, which would be normal for anyone else who isn't Alice Cooper.
She soon started to look for someone to blame and turning back to her usual self. She could have also potentially sent someone to shoot Fred. She is also one of the few who knew what happened between Archie and Miss Grundy.
Motive: She hates Archie because she believes he is corrupting her daughter and thinks he's just like Jason.
The Blossoms
More so, Cheryl's mother. Whoever shot Fred not only felt like hurting Fred but hurting Archie as well. Archie is a part of the reason her husband is dead and why the Blossoms have crumbled in power.
Despite him being a friend to Cheryl and being a comfort throughout the aftermath of Jason's death, in the end, he had something do to with Cliff Blossom's death when the gang found out what he did.
Motive: They have nothing, so Penelope is slowly getting rid of anyone who has had something to do with the Blossoms' fall from power.
Throughout the season, we will have millions of questions before we actually get any answers. There will be more theories and more mysteries... but that's what makes "Riverdale" so great.
