Who I Am: Words Of Encouragement

"I know who I am. I am not perfect. I'm not the most beautiful woman in the world. But I'm one of them." Mary J. Blige

I love this quote because it really sums up who I am. it is an encouragement and also a statement that keeps me going. Every day we go about our way trying to figure our who we are, how we fit into this big world, what our purpose is and how we can make the world a better place. Some people figure out all these things pretty quickly while others take a while to figure it out.

In the process of trying to figure out who we are, sometimes we do some really dumb things, we make mistakes. we get hurt by people we love, we get disappointed, discouraged and completely overwhelmed but James 1:12 say " Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." So even after everything we pass through, we look up to God and he directs our part, he sends people our way to encourage us and walk with us through the journey he has set for us.

Many artists have written or produced songs that talk about who we are and the struggles we face while trying to figure out our place on earth, how we should carry ourselves, what to do and how to overcome obstacles and here are their stories:

These songs encourage me when I am going through difficult times especially this coming weeks, finals are around the corner and everything is really chaotic, but I will keep fighting and know that everything I need in life God will provide for me. I may not have all the puzzle pieces right now, my plans may be falling apart but I know who I am, a child of God.
