Those who follow Harry Potter enough to be on Pottermore recently noticed that they could be sorted into the new houses for the new school, Ilvermorny, JK Rowling established as canon in the United States: Horned Serpent, Pukwudgie, Wampus, or Thunderbird. Here's the total, all-covering, completely unbiased guide to the new school, what the houses are and which one you want to be sorted into in 500 words.
Ilvermorny:
The sorting is the same as Hogwarts. You take a quiz and retake it until you get the house you want. Houses aren't based on what you value at Ilvermorny though, it's based on what you're strongest part is: mind, heart, body, or spirit. So, it's a lot harder to come up with an excuse for retaking and changing your house.
Pukwudgie:
The best. They favor the heart and tend to be healers and it's the house that all the cool, nice people go to. This comes from a Pukwudgie, so I would know best. I've already unfriended anyone I know who isn't a Pukwudgie. I mean, we're so important that the creature our house is based on was a huge part of the founding of Ilvermorny. The only creature close to being that relevant is the Horned Serpent, but again, they're nerds, so not as good. 10/10 would be sorted into Pukwudgie again.
Horned Serpent:
Not Slytherin. Yes, they both have snakes as their symbol and they like intelligence, but that's it. Horned Serpents are just anyone who uses their mind more than the other parts. For nerds. Would probably have straight A's. 3rd place in house coolness, would reconsider if they make cool inventions or do anything cooler than just think. Can earn back my friendship by proving coolness through other way, like being in one of the top Hogwarts Houses or retaking the quiz and getting another house.
Thunderbird:
Okay, I gotta admit, Thunderbird just sounds too cool to be bad. They're adventerous and are all about spirit and stuff. The creature this house is based on literally makes storms as it flies. This is the house for badasses. Considering refriending people who are in this house. Not as great as Pukwudgie or as relevant to the founding, but just so totally cool that they're the second best.
Wampus:
You'll have an easier time figuring this one out than me. All of these are new creatures JK Rowling introduced, but this one just doesn't seem right. Like, Horned Serpent, Thunderbird. Simple. Pukwudgie is all in her story about the founding of the school and the picture is kinda cool. The Wampus is apparently like a panther and this house is for those who use their body most. So, if you like to punch things or fight and stuff, go here? Some pictures make it look cool, but for being the most confusing to figure out and general suckage, this is the worst house. Avoid if possible. I've blocked people in this house on facebook. They don't get redemption and friendship back.
