When You're Too Close To Your Mother And Sister

"Too close?"

When You're Too Close To Your Mother And Sister
Paige Wagner

Not everyone can say that they have close relationships with their mother and sister. For me, people can say that my relationship with my mother and sister is a little too close. At times, things become very interesting between the three of us, like with our Snapchat wars, inside jokes, random trips to Taco Bell, and so on. Even when we argue, we soon let it go, because we have to share something with one another. Not everyone understands the relationship we share; they even question if it's normal, but who's to say we care what you think about our relationship?

You take pictures whenever you get food/drinks.

No matter where we end up going, everyone has to know we went and what we got.

Random dancing moments occur often.

Whether you want it to happen or not, it will always end up happening when we are together.

You can never leave your phone alone.

Even if I leave the room for 10 seconds, I have to be prepared for the uncountable amounts of selfies left on my phone.

You talk to one another like friends.

Honestly do you need more of an explanation?

You will receive the weirdest Snapchats.

At all hours of the day, we can receive one of these without warning.

You share similar interests.

Not many people share such a deep admiration for pizza and attractive guys like us.

You can never take a cute picture alone.

Pretty much every picture I have has at least one of them in it.

You annoy each other.

We mean well, I swear!

It's very rare to have cute pictures together.

We can be nice to one another when we want to be, and when we are, we look cute doing it.

You understand each other's struggles.

Even miles away they know how stressful college can be at times.

Blackmail is ALWAYS kept!

Hopefully they won't make me pay for this one.

You guys have your own group chat.

How else are we going to talk about everything and everyone without you all knowing?

There is nothing wrong with being yourself around them.

We don't care how crazy we may look, if we're together, get ready to see some humorous memories be created.

To be honest, people may never understand our relationship and even judge us for it, but I don't care. We are happy with our relationship and that's all that matters. I may be away from them two while I'm at college, but that doesn't change our relationship one bit. For those who do not have a relationship like this with someone, I hope one day you will. Until then, keep judging, because we'll just have more fun being "too close."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
