When tragedies occur most people can see them for exactly that: a tragedy. They feel saddened and confused but they can learn to move on and keep living their lives. For some of us though, a tragedy hits a lot worse than it should. Some of us feel too much and hearing about the problems in the world make us start overthinking.
When you have some form of anxiety, you feel too much. Everything hits harder and makes your emotions bubble over. A tragedy in the world, such as what happened at Ariana Grande's concert recently, will make you paranoid, depressed, and most of all anxious. You feel the pain of multiple people instead of just feeling the pain of yourself.
Sometimes we take on the emotions of others. If someone tells us something sad that happened to them, we feel their sadness. So when something sad happens to the world, a world of sadness takes over us and we wonder how our world could be so dark and dismal. For a few days, or maybe weeks, or maybe months we're stuck not seeing anything bright in the world, but only the pain that's taken over.
Feeling too much makes it impossible to carry out every day tasks. It makes it hard having serious conversations with friends. It makes it hard to watch the news or to accept what is truly going on in the world. Feeling too much means you could break at any second. But there is a bright side to feeling too much.
There isn't all bad in the world. Feeling too much also means you care about people with everything you have. Feeling too much means you want to help people as much as you can. Feeling too much means you just want everyone else to see the good in the world, because you know how it feels to see all of the bad.
When you feel too much you can do something with it. You can help other people to feel better and slowly help yourself feel better. You might feel the negative emotions but you need to see the positive emotions outweigh the negative ones.
Despite how much of a tragedy Ariana Grande's concert was, there was so much support and love from people who were shocked. We need to look upon the people who feel the way we do and help each other through hard times. And even whilst we are feeling those negative emotions, we must also feel all the love we have and share that.
