I’ve seen so many articles and videos about relieving stress and I always ask myself one thing: how the hell am I going to have time to do these things? When am I going to be able to go to yoga class when I don’t even make time to sleep? If I’m stressed out, chances are I’m not making enough time for myself, and oftentimes the stress-relieving tips and tricks that I find take up a lot of time.
So at long last, here are a couple easy things to do when you feel like your head is going to explode:
1. Listen to Hall & Oates- You Make My Dreams Come True
<span id="selection-marker-1" class="redactor-selection-marker"></span>
This is the song of champions. You may recognize it from 500 Days of Summer when Joseph Gordon-Levitt danced adorably to its joyous beat (refer to the above if you are uneducated.) It’s pretty hard to listen to this song and not feel the desire to dance adorably through the streets, although now it is cold, so we'll be confining our romping to our rooms. Another song I recommend is a-ha’s Take On Me. The music video is not one to miss. I once danced through the tunnels to this song with a friend and received a plethora of strange looks that were totally worth it. Win.
2. Watch mind-numbing television when you’re eating as a study break
My current meal show is Cheers, a fantastic old-school comedy that is absolutely hilarious. My roommate always hears me cackling to this show when I’m in my room. Past shows that were perfect for watching during lunch or dinner were: How I Met Your Mother, New Girl, Parks and Recreation, The Office, and Archer. All solid.
3. Sing in the shower, even if you can't sing
I love jamming out and singing in the shower because... hello from the other side. Also, singing can be therapeutic, especially group singing. Woot
4. Order food sometimes, even if you’re nervous about spending money
Food has such an incredible influence on our lives, especially when we’re in college and it’s almost always absolutely terrible. Bad food also affects our digestive system, and we all know what that looks like at the end of the day. Tonight I stuffed my face with Chicken Makhani from Haveli Indian Cuisine (it’s on GrubHub, hit it up), and even after an obscenely stressful couple of days, I had a huge smile on my face. Food is good and sometimes you just need to
5. Breathe
Yeah, I’m not full of it. I’m serious. When you’re freaking out and you have two essays, three projects, an exam, and yourlifeisfallingapart– just taking three (to ten, if necessary) breaths actually relieves stress. It’s amazing how we overlook something we do every day, but it’s true. So then next time you are just like

REMEMBER: to breathe, just breaaathee #throwback. But seriously, don't underestimate the fact that even the smallest things in the world are worth the effort. These tips may seem insignificant and probably won't change your world drastically, but they're a lot easier and simpler than going to the gym, getting the proper amount of sleep, and dedicating an hour to meditation on the reg. But, hey, if you're not a crazy woman like me and you can do those things, I send the clapping emoji your way.
As for my fellow crazy people: live well, jam out and breathe. Oh, and enjoy that stuffing. Finals are coming.
BTW...he's not dead...
